Helen Webb Primary School English and Maths Tutor

Give your child a head start or extra support with individualised one to one tuition! I travel within the Horsham, Crawley, Southwater, Cowfold and surrounding areas and work with children in Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

English

From Pre School rhyming, phonics and early mark making, through to KS1 and KS2 Reading, Comprehension, Grammar and Punctuation and Writing I will develop your child's confidence and ability in this subject area using a wide range of strategies and resources.

Maths

Using equipment and resources used in schools, such as Numicon and Dienes, I help children see patterns in numbers and find ways to develop their understanding of mathematical concepts so they find numbers, shapes and problem solving activities interesting and fun!

Preschool

Give your child a head start before starting school in September! I will help your child develop the required skills for entering Reception...confidence, concentration, problem solving, rhyming, phonics, counting, shapes, mark making.

Workshops for Parents

Would you like to have better understanding of how Phonics, Reading, Writing and Numeracy are now taught so you can help your child at home with homework or reinforce what is being taught at school? Book in for one of my parent workshops now!

Helping your child become a confident, happy learner

Using a range of strategies and resources, I will boost your child's confidence and enthusiasm towards learning.

Knowledge

Knowledge

For many children, the key to developing their knowledge and understanding of new concepts is through hands-on, practical experiences. I use a range of equipment and resources to give children the opportunity to 'see' what they are doing before moving on to the next step.

Confidence

Confidence

By working with your child at his/her level, planning individualised lessons and using a range of strategies and resources focusing on building confidence, I will help your child become an enthusiastic and self-confident learner, keen to tackle new challenges.

Problem Solving

Problem Solving

Studies have shown that children learn best in a relaxed, familiar environment. For this reason, I travel to you for tutoring sessions. Learning doesn't always need to take place at a table and chair, sometimes the best results come from being on the floor, outdoors...every child is different!

Success

Success

Individualised planning, tailored to your child's needs, ensures success. Success results in confidence, which builds self-esteem and desire to learn more. By working at your child's pace, success and the 'feel good' factor will continuously happen - learning really will be fun!
